Take a listen to

First off Roxanne, thank you very much for taking the time to chat with us. You are scheduled to face DeAnna Bennett at Invicta FC 16. How has your training camp been going leading up to this fight?

Training has been great! I'm in great shape, no injuries, and I'm ready for a tough scrap!

Stylistically, how do you feel you match up with Bennett?

I think she's a very well-rounded fighter, so I'll have to use all the tools in my tool box to beat her. I'm very curious to see what kind of game plan she tries to implement on me since I move so awkwardly. I have big plans for her, too.

You are coming off a truly dominant performance over Mariana Morais back in September. Are you expecting another one-sided effort in this matchup here as well?

No, I'm sure DeAnna will bring it in different ways, but I'll also try to end it in a stoppage.

With a win here, that will make you 4-1 in your last five fights. Do you predict a title shot in your near future?

Yes, I hope to get a title shot if I win, but I'm trying not to think too far ahead.

If you aren’t granted a title shot, is there a specific opponent that you would like to face for your next fight?

I don't want to think too far ahead, but I've been wanting a rematch against Takayo Hashi for years. Someday!

Aside from your impressive performances as of late, one of the things that you are widely known for are your entertaining costumes at all of your weigh ins. Is it safe to say that you have something special planned for when you step on the scale?

Yes, I'm going to stick with the Mortal Kombat Theme and be Mileena! Let's just say that sai are really hard to hold and use, and her costume is skimpier than I would have liked. I put a stitch in it. lol

This past Saturday, we saw your former Ultimate Fighter coach Miesha Tate capture the UFC title by submitting Holly Holm.  Having trained alongside Tate, can you talk about what it was like witnessing her win the belt?

I trained with her a few times, and we are friends.  I'm so so happy for her!  She had to work her way up to a title match a few times and certainly deserves it!

Finally, can we get your final prediction as to how your fight with Bennett will play out? How do you see yourself getting your hand raised?

It could be any number of ways!  I'm not really going for a specific thing, but I hope for a submission.

Q: Any last words?

A: Most of [my] sponsors aren't big lucrative companies, but rather fans who send me their love and send me money to support my fight camps.
